Window Fans

Expel stale air with fans that fit in your window

Window fans are a very effective method of cooling the air in your home. They are designed to fit into any type or size of window; most come equipped with extenders which allow them to fit any window. Window fans are interesting because most are designed with only one blade that moves in two different directions. This blade is designed to draw fresh, cool air from outside your home into your home, and force the warm air from your home to the outside.

There is another type of window fan which features two independently controlled fans. These cooling systems work in two different ways. Both fans can work together to pull air in or suction it out, but they often work against each other to perform two different functions. When the two fans work against each other one will pull the cool air into the home whereas the other will suction the air from inside the home and transfer it outside.

Consumers will often experience the same benefits with a window fan as they would from a window air conditioner. Many window fans are equipped with a thermostat which is used to regulate the temperature. The ventilation system will turn on and shut off according to its’ set temperature. In this regard, window fans function in a similar fashion to central air conditioning systems.

If you’re thinking of purchasing a window fan it is important to look for a model with low noise levels. Some window fans can be very noisy and cause disturbances throughout the day or when trying to sleep. It may cost a little extra to purchase a quiet window fan, but the extra costs can outweigh the disruptions caused by a noisy system.

Despite what some individuals think, using a box fan in replacement of a window fan is not a good idea. Window fans are designed to fit perfectly in the window. Box fans do not fit perfectly in window spaces and are prone to falling out of the window. It’s better to spend the extra money and purchase a window fan instead. After all, only window fans were designed for the window.
